This is a chronological listing of Alaskan maps. I am not certain how many entries are here since entries are numbered within each year, but there appear to be about 1500. Each entry lists title, maker, place and-date of publication, dimensions book containing the map, other bibliographical citations, location of reproductions, and comments. The listings appear to have been done with a daisy-wheel printer, and are quite legible. I would have preferred more introductory material and more comments about each map. However, the very high number of entries creates space problems, and information on most of the maps is available elsewhere. There are a few idiosyncracies. For example, many of the early maps cited are world maps, but the listing is far from complete. The selection criterion is not clear. This work would be useful to dealers and collectors of the arctic regions. The good coverage of late 19th-century maps is quite welcome.
