This is a general, and widely available, book about maps in general.  As the title implies, the book is a guide to obtaining and using various types of maps, ranging from travel maps and marketing maps to bathymetric and boundary maps.  There is a section on antique maps and reproductions.  Having contributed a brief essay for the antique map section, I am a little biased in the book's favor.  Nevertheless, this is an excellent book for those interested in the wider world of maps outside of those of the antique variety.  I suspect it will also help the general public become more aware of antique maps.
