This is an excellent county map reference.  It contains the usual introductory material, followed by many detailed essays on the various producers of county maps.  Numerous illustrations and cross-references will be appreciated by the collector.  The Price Guide portion of the title refers to a brief section at the end giving for each mapmaker what are called "general guidelines" and not "buying or selling prices" reflecting "approximate market prices in England in late 1982."  I am not sure what this means, but at least it serves as a rough guide.  This well-produced, interesting, and comprehensive work is recommended for county map collectors.
