This pamphlet in English and French will prove helpful to anyone wishing to cite cartographic sources.  The text deals not only with maps, but with paintings, photographs, and even machine-readable data files.  It will be no surprise that maps require more pages to explain than any of these other archival sources.  General citation principles are given, with specific examples for manuscript maps, printed maps, maps in atlases, sheets from a topographic series, maps in government records, and private collections.  This publication would be useful in compiling a map bibliography and possibly in preparing dealer catalogs.
