The key preposition in the title is for.  This is not a guide to map resources in New York.  Anyone researching the mapping of New York City will find this a valuable aid.  The holdings and services of about 50 institutions, mostly in the city itself, are described in detail.  The list is quite complete.  The New York Stock Exchange Archives are even included since "the economic reach of corporations based in New York is displayed on maps." A handy appendix gives several pages of related references.  The book is nicely printed, and quite reasonably priced.
