This book consists of 64 essays, each accompanied by its own map. Texana collectors and dealers will be most interested the material from the 16th to the 19th centuries. Separate essays accompany the early expeditions of Cabeza de Vaca (one of my favorite names), Coronado, De Soto, and La Salle. Other sections deal with political boundaries, hostilities with Mexico, and so on. The individual sections are quite digestible, and this low-priced book ought to be on the shelf of those dealing with early Texana.
