Title: Blat CCXLIX [Constantinople]
This early view is a reduced version of Schedel's larger view of Constantinople. It shows the city with the same windmills, monuments and mosques within an imaginary countryside. The text describes the siege of Constantinople in 1453. The view is on a full sheet of German text (10.9 x 15.8") with portraits of Suncassianus, the King of Persia and Armenia, John Capistrano, and poet Francesco Filelfo of Ancona on the verso.     (id:254887/149-592A)
