Title: Constantinopolis Urbis Effigies
A finely engraved and very detailed panorama of the city of Constantinople from across the Bosphorus from Scutari, by Mattheus Merian. The foreground is more strongly engraved to give an impression of perspective and is decorated with scenes of figures and animals, while the buildings of the city appear precisely depicted and are identified in a numbered annotated key below the image. A good example of this large folding panorama.     (id:54080)
